Amrutha produces 'Vangi' on a grand scale for Arun Films Entertainment. Story, screenplay and direction are by Arun Kumar. A student of Pune Film Institute, this is the first film he's directing.

Apart from Hindi actors Jackie Shroff and Rahul Dev, Abbas also features in the film. Archana of 'Vegam' fame acts as the heroine. Pooja Bharati is the other heroine and Raghuvaran appears in an important role.

Software engineer Abbas, gang leader Raghuvaran and big gangster Jackie Shroff plt and plan and rob 100 crores from a bank. But the money goes missing. The varied efforts they undertake to locate the missing money makes for a racy narrative. Latest technological effects on par with a Hollywood film, have been used in this film.

Making his debut in a tamil film, Jackie Shroff has not only completed his 32 days of shooting but also dubbed his Tamil dialogues in his own voice.

Four kuthu songs take place in the film. Mumbai models have been used in this. Evolving as a grand, action film, 120 days of shooting has been done in Mumbai. Some novel locations in Ooty, Chennai and Hyderabad also figure in the film.
